Responsibilities

We’re looking for an experienced product manager to drive execution against our roadmap. In the near-term, we’ll be testing, iterating, and introducing new features as we ramp up to launch an iOS app on the App Store.

You should have strong product intuition, be focused on execution, and be able to balance feedback and data with stakeholder input to drive prioritization. You thrive on cross-functional collaboration and are excited to partner with engineering, design, content, marketing, and the rest of our team.

Here are some of the things that you’ll be up to:

  • Synthesizing scientific, technical, and business requirements into a unified iOS product and supporting website.

  • Prioritizing the product roadmap, analyzing performance, and rapidly iterating using feedback and metrics, guiding the prioritization process by flagging risks and tradeoffs.

  • Keeping the roadmap updated, and ensuring stakeholders are informed and aligned.

  • Resolving blockers as they arise.

  • Developing expertise in Matter’s metrics at all stages of the funnel. Creating dashboards and helping the team answer questions with data.

  • Knowing the ins and outs of the Matter app and website. Being able to answer or make informed decisions about granular and strategic questions that arise from collaborators.

  • Coordinating with executive stakeholders, team leads, and individual contributors to create an efficient, collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

College degrees and certifications, numbers of years of experience, and prestigious accolades are not required. General life experience, expertise in your area, curiosity, and generosity with skills and knowledge are more important.

We’d love to see and hear about your experience:

  • At previous startups, launching new product experiences.

  • Creating strong documentation to support the product process and cross-team communication.

  • Partnering with Design, Engineering, Content, Marketing, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and incorporate their feedback.

  • Using data to help drive decision making.

  • Building iOS and web products.

  • Launching or working on subscription products.

  • Designing and/or conducting user research.

Benefits

Doing meaningful work shouldn’t come at the expense of building a meaningful life. At Matter, this means:

  • Four-day work week: Monday through Thursday

  • 20 vacation days of your choice, plus the last week in December off

  • Remote-first work environment

  • 100% company funded, premium healthcare coverage for you and your dependents

To apply

Even though we’re all pretty experienced, we learn something new almost every day. It may be about neuroscience, design, or technology. Or it may be about something else entirely. We’ll be excited to learn from you, too.

If you’re interested in this role, please email the following to jobs@matter.xyz:

  • Cover letter

  • Resume (LinkedIn profile is fine)

  • Example of a product brief you’ve written (please remove confidential details as needed)

  • Example of a roadmap (again, please remove any confidential details as needed), along with a description of who/what that roadmap was for and the time period it covers

We’ll look forward to hearing from you.
